The Finnish Defence Forces has exercised its option for an additional purchase of Soldier Routers from Savox Communications, defined in the 2016 Soldier Router contract. The EUR 2 million order will be provided to The Finnish Defence Forces by the end of 2020.
The Soldier Router has been developed in close cooperation with The Finnish Defence Forces since 2016. It allows the use of existing field radios as a part of a modern battlefield command and control system, improving the situational awareness of field operations.
Savox Communications is developing a new information system (Savox Information system) for government use, and the Soldier Router is an essential part of this overall system. It combines different devices and solutions seamlessly to both wired and mobile systems.
“In developing the command and control system, it is important to better integrate the current radio hardware into the new M18 system. Savox’s solution plays a central role in achieving this,” says Colonel Eero Valkola, Inspector of Signals of the Finnish Army.
